Week #8

dominikamajda

What a week it was! Some small challenges but overall positive progress! It started with a blood infection that was quickly detected so Aaron managed to squeeze some physio at the end of the week. He also started getting more sensation across his body, which is another milestone!

More breathing exercises and more talking!

Last week Aaron was looked after by an awesome British Power Lifting Champion Siobhan Taylor! Siobhan is a critical care nurse who was looking after Aaron, she is representing Britain in various powerlifting events, and she is winning! In August 2023 she won GOLD in European championships and smashed her PB! She is the GBP Commonwealth Champion, she won GOLD in the 2022 competition in New Zealand! Such an inspirational person, full of drive and determination!

The blood infection caused Aaron to have a really high temperature, at one point it went up to 39.2 degrees! His body felt like it was burning! The quickest way of decreasing it was by covering him with wet towels. It worked, for a moment he looked like a Mummy :)

We also started exploring the menu... :) starting with a Vanilla Iced Latte, and moving on to a Vanilla Milkshake from Burger King... then settling on autumny vibes with Hinz Tomato soup, some chicken, and mushroom... no McDonald's Cheeseburger as yet ;-)

We stay positive and keep on fighting, the road is rocky and full of obstacles but we will get through it, we are a Team. We have some fantastic friends who are allowing us to face this challenge...Mel, Jemma, Craig, Faye, Roydon, Nicky, Wes, and Lou.. thank you for being there for us. One of our neighbors is helping us with our bin every week, I still don't know who that is... that is kind and I just want to say thank you for helping out!

We heard this song this week and it felt so real when we listening to it

Keep on fighting Aaron. With your sheer determination and bloody mindedness you will get there. Lots of love Carol and John.
