About Aaron's Recovery

Aaron raced at Brands Hatch GP on Saturday 29 July 2023 when he had his accident and sustained spinal injuries that will take a long time to recover from. This blog is dedicated to his journey to recovery and the challenges he faces along the way.We hope that by sharing Aaron's story, we can inspire and support others who are going through a similar experience. Join us on this journey of hope, courage, and perseverance.

Aaron is a result-driven, very ambitious, and determined person. Always strive to get stronger and better. He raced in motocross for 30 years and got 2nd in World Championships, completed a few Ironmans (the Ironman), tried Caterham racing, and even learned to fly helicopters. Lastly, he was competing in Motorbike racing with the BEMSEE family and was doing really well. He won his first-year Championship and was the best Rookie of that year! Stayed methodological and focused on continuous and consistent improvement. He had data, was analyzing his results consistently, and strategically planned to improve.

16 years ago he was run over by a drunk driver while training for  Ironman. He was left on the scene and found by his friend. Had a Ripped aorta, a severe brain injury, and a diagnosis of never recovering from it, not even waking up from the coma… year later he completed another Ironman… he has got. The winning mindset is to never give up and strive to win and prove that what’s impossible is possible.

Now he is injured, there is no clear guidance on how long is going to take and when we will accomplish the goal. It is a waiting game as we were told by specialists. But what we can do is get his mind and physio on point and push through this challenge together.

He has got the right mindset and the correct attitude, he is relentless, he is a winner.

To help Aaron remain focused and see small continuous improvement I decided to create this blog where every week I will do short summary of where he was and where he is.
