Month #9-10

9 months, 4 hospitals, 1 visit home and several milestones achieved since the accident happened in July 2023. Aaron remains focused and determined to get better and get back home soon.

The last months in Stoke Mandeville were busy with different activities: physiotherapy, OT, Hydrotherapy, FES bike, acupuncture and several individual sessions that we added to maximize the time that Aaron spent in this facility.

The process is sometimes difficult as some days Aaron is in a lot of pain which restricts how much he can do that day, he also has lots of spasms and struggles with sleep some nights. Regardless of the obstacles he is pushing through. This week he has started acupuncture sessions that are supposed to help to release the pain.

Aaron is making fantastic progress, he is getting a lot of mobility in his arms and is now able to operate the power chair on his own! He started moving his left leg and feet.

He continues to work on those and build up more strength!

After 9 and a half months, Aaron came home for a few hours last week. It was an emotional experience! The boys were excited to see him and were giving him a lot of kisses. He also had his favourite fish and chips for lunch!

We are overwhelmed by the support that we are receiving from our friends from the racing community.

Alex @ajbuchanan_ launched a 'sticker initiative', which then involved other riders who put the sticker on their bikes, and helmets during BEMSEE @bemsee_official racing, even recovery van participated!

Pete Marsh @marshy_45 from RD Racing team @rd._racing in collaboration with Martin from The Clothing Company theclothingkings.co.uk designed and produced clothing, which profit off will go towards Aaron's rehabilitation equipment.

Thank you to everyone who purchased the stickers and supported Aaron during racing.

Big thank you to Mark who makes sure that the grass in our garden is maintained and looking as pristine as Aaron would like it.

We are now preparing for Aaron's return home. To be able to continue his rehabilitation we are now looking into buying rehabilitation equipment that he will be able to use daily.

Aaron will need:

  1. FES bike RT300 Leg | Arm | Core that cost £27, 000

  2. Multi Gym Equalizer 6000 that cost £7,500

To be able to buy it we set up a funding page

Any support is extremely appreciated.

Thank you to all the friends who are visiting Aaron regularly and are making his stay in the hospital more pleasant.
