Waiting game! Since Aaron had his tracheostomy removed, he is patiently waiting for a transfer to Stoke Mandeville where the recovery journey continues. Due to Junior Doctors' strikes in December and early January, this has been slightly postponed and the date is still not confirmed.
While waiting he is consistently doing his physio, however, he is struggling with consistent spasms and full-body pain that is affecting his sleep and making him very tired. He also moved his room to be able to wait for his transfer in Royal Papworth.
The team at Royal Papworth is doing everything they can to support him and ease his stay.
We celebrated Christmas and New Year surrounded by friends and a lovely Papworth team. Everyone did all they could to make this time pleasant for us.
We laughed and had some fun as much as we could. Aaron also got some gifts... 'a Turkey hat' and Scottish specialties! Thank you, Toby and Lorna! We went into 2024 accompanied by friends.
Thank you to all the visitors who came to see Aaron during this time, we do appreciate that.
And a new addition to the toy crew! Thank you Milly x

The song that summarises how Aaron is feeling at the moment...
